Gangaramaya Temple is one of the famous Buddhist temples in Colombo, Sri Lanka. It reflects the mix of Sri Lankan, Thai, Indian and Chinese architecture and with cultural heritage.

The temple is located in #61 Sri Jinarathana Rd, Colombo Sri Lanka 00200.

The Bo Tree, together with the stupa and the Viharaya, forms the important triad within the Buddhist temple.

The white stupa in the centre of the temple is fronted by the new Samadhi Buddha statue. It sits in a carved stone image house.

The Viharaya or image house is painted well and neatly sculpted. It houses the Buddha statues coloured vibrantly.

The ‘Bo-tree’ is the Pipal or Sacred Fig tree (Ficus religiosa), under which the Buddha attained enlightenment. It is worshipped by all devotees and prayer flags form.

The attraction of the temple invites people from many different religions. The architecture of Seema Malakaya, a Buddhist temple in Colombo, Sri Lanka is the most notable place for tourists. The temple is mainly used for meditation and rest, rather than for worship.

Seemamalakaya -for the assemble for monks in the middle of the Beira Lake, was built in 1979. With its Southeast Asian influence, minimum colours and the atmosphere is suitable for escaping from the crowd.

Colombo city trip - Colombo (கொழும்பு) ) is the capital of Sri Lanka . It is the financial centre of the island and a tourist destination. It is located on the west coast of the island. Colombo is also the administrative capital of the Western Province and the district capital of Colombo District. Colombo is a busy and vibrant place with a mixture of modern life and colonial buildings and ruins.

Colombo was made the capital of the island when Sri Lanka was ceded to the British Empire in 1815, and its status as capital was retained when the nation became independent in 1948.

The main city is home to a majority of Sri Lanka's corporate offices, restaurants and entertainment venues.
